Abstract

We checked impact between environmental quality and economic growth in Pakistan by this study. The time series data has been taken over the period from 1970-2017. For results estimation ARDL Bounds testing Approach has used. The findings reveal that short run Model (ECM) is significant and negative that indicates the slow adjustment speed from previous year to the equilibrium of long run. All the variables in long run are significant. DI, CO2, N2O and TO have positive impact to GDP while FDI and LF have negative impact to GDP. That shows DI, CO2, N2O and TO increase the GDP while FDI and LF caused the GDP decreased. The positive impact of CO2 and N2O on GDP leads to environmental degradation for the case of Pakistan.
