Environmental Degradation and Energy Consumption
A case study of China
Abstract
The main aim of the research is to check the relationship between the environmental degradation and energy consumption in context of the China for the era of 1980 to 2020 by applying the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) Method to find out the empirical results. Findings of Ordinary Least Square (OLS) Method indicate that Energy Consumption (ENERGY) is statistically significant and has positive impact on the Carban Dioxide Emissions (CO2) of the country China. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is statistically significant and has positive impact on the Carban Dioxide Emissions (CO2) of the country China. The Chinese Governments need to encourage financial growth with empirical results with their negative and significant effects on environmental emissions. They can also encourage investment in new energy sector resources that are advantageous in terms of CO2 emissions.
